I spent two nights here and really enjoyed my time here. Rooms beautifully decorated and spotless. The mini fridge was great and so nice to have fruit juice and fresh milk (soya in my case!). Loved the story behind each rooms name. Breakfast really good huge selection and good quality. Owners really friendly and kind. Slightly out of main town... More

I must say that i stayed at the Minstrel's Rest for two weeks on a work stay, from the word go the owners were brilliant, showing me my room, which had loads of tea, coffee, fruit tea and hot Choc... A mini fridge with water, orange and apple juice and proper milk!! The beds are soft and comfy, I had... More

My husband and I are just back from a weekend down in the Battle and Hastings area, staying overnight in the 4-poster room at Minstrel's Rest. So many positive things to mention: - welcoming, friendly hosts who gave us all the area info we wanted; - spotless, brilliantly decorated home with the medieval theme carried throughout, down to the smallest... Located in a residential area, it is not walking distance from anywhere. Anyways, a car would be essential to visit this part of the country, especially as you can sample all the charms of Hastings in 2-3 hours. We made Hastings our base for a Bank Holiday weekend - spent Saturday afternoon walking on the seafront and Sunday driving up... More

This guest house is well worth a visit, although like almost everywhere in Hastings, the parking is on the street, being 5 mins drive to the sea its plentyful and free. when you step through the door, you step back to medievil times, all the decor is amazing,Have your photo taken with Sir Cedric in the main banqueting hall. The hosts... More

We chose the Minstrel's Rest after reading other impressive reviews and based on the reasonable cost. Phil & Michelle were very welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them and if there was a blueprint for the ideal people to run a b & b, they would be it! The medieval theme that runs through the house is... More

Whilst initially surprised at the location we were warmly met and enjoyed our stay. Whilst we did not have a problem with parking it could be an issue during the peak season. The room is comfortable but is lacking in size and solidly built people will find it a 'challenge', especially in the bathroom. We were impressed with the cleanliness... More

We stayed here for a third time since last summer. Not only is the welcome always warm but the rooms have been consistantly clean and tidy. The breakfast is the best you will get anywhere and you can choose what you have which is a nice change. The rooms are easy to relax in and Phill & Michelle are always... More
