If you're looking for a cheap stayover in Southampton this is definitely the place to book. The rooms are basic and functional but for one night what more do you need? The rooms are designed similar to the Formula 1 style of Europe. One big plastic shell with bunk beds. the rooms stank of stale cigarette smoke and needed cleaning. If a lousy service, loud guests and oh BLOOD on the sheets is what you want then you should defiantly stay at the E tap! Also boasted free wifi...yeah if your in room within signal range I will not be returning any time soon more

ideal location for a stop over, close to West Quay shopping & entertaiment centers. Very very friendly & helpful staff (many thanks to Danille !!!) without them we would of got lost more

Had to travel to Southampton due to work, due to tight cost controls had to make some savings. Lucky for me I stumbled accross the Etap. Check in was fine, in a good location until I got to the room. McDonald's drive thru and a busy main road despite double glazing were a constant companion. For £37 a night, this place was a bargain. The bed was very comfortable, even if it was a bunk), the room was clean and the shower was lovely and hot. Didn't have breakfast there but it looked like good value (£2ish for cereal, fruit, toast, etc) and it's very close to the town centre. All in all, nothing special... more
