The location is excellent - right beside the Cathedral. The room was clean and comfortable, well equipped, including tea/coffee-making facilities (with nice flapjack biscuits). The breakfast was very good, and the bacon & sausages not mass-produced, which was a nice touch. However, it's just not an exciting place!

Stayed at the Mercure for one night. This hotel is in a great location for Winchester and our room overlooked the Cathedral. We even heard the bells in the morning. The hotel is much nicer on the inside than it looks from the outside. We stayed for breakfast which was really good.
