“A great experience”

I stayed in this YHA with 6 chlidren and my husband for two nights. We felt very touched by the warm welcome. The refurbishment impressed us a lot - bright rooms, very clean, nice colours. shower and toilets very modern. Super service, extremely friendly staff - so near to the city centre...what more could you ask for?

“What an Excellent Place”

My rating of the various features of the Canterbury Hostel are below. I would reccomend it to anyone. • Hostel – Couldn’t be better. Comfortable and clean. • Bike Shed - Secure • Breakfast – Sumptuous • Staff – Nothing short of brilliant Looking forward to our next stay.

“Canterbury YHA - great stay”

After cycling all day, it was the perfect location to relax and clean up for a wander into Canterbury for dinner. Great accommodation and would recommend it to all. Breakfast was spot on. Excellent value for money.

“Beautiful building. Immaculate. Spotless.”

Stayed as a family of five so payed for our own room (6 beds). Everything was just perfect and smelled new. Didn't have time for breakfast but it looked great. Lovely communal lounge with TV. Highly recommend.

“Stunning refurbishment, a real find just a stone's throw from the centre”

Me and my boyfriend stayed here only a week after it has re-opened following a refurbishment. We booked a private room and it even had an en-suite! The kitchen is a bit small for the size of the hostel... The breakfast is good but only till 9. Tents are available for cheaper rates. What is missing most are simple sinks with a mirror... Toilets and showers are cleaned daily. Parking space is limited

Had a friendly welcome and a good nights sleep, breakfast was good. Did not use the self catering kitchen, so cannot comment. Cleanliness was okay.

I have stayed at many hostels and backpackers and this one really disappointed me. The kitchen is poorly equipped and is too small to cater for the numbers present. Canterbury YHA Hostel is as dirty and filthy as the Dover hostel used to be. (fortunately it was closed last autumn). There is greasy dirt everywhere. We stayed in the tent accommodation with access to the bathrooms and kitchen in the main house. The tent was large and quite new with comfortable mattresses and bedding supplied.
