I was staying with my 19 yr old son. Great location 2 min walk from the Cathedral, shops and restaurants. Ample free parking, WiFi and the best twin share room we stayed in during our trip. Clean, warm and very well appointed. Staff were very friendly and helpful with a good, help yourself breakfast. More

Great location! Short walk into town. Free parking on site, a little small but works. Breakfast food was good but could have used more help serving. More

We booked direct as we were travelling with 1 year old twins so we wanted to make sure they had 2 cots and 2 high chairs that we could use. All good on arrival - we got there around 1pm and they let us leave our bags in our room before heading into town. We didn't have to pay on... More

We stayed in room 8, a ground floor twin room with large ensuite bathroom, including both bath and shower over. The website doesn't do the hotel justice. It's full of character.....utterly charming. My only (tiny) issue was I could clearly hear other guests/staff in the hallway, hence assume they could hear me, so didn't feel 100% private. Staff were lovely,... More

This hotel is about 5 minutes walk from the Cathedral and the centre of town, so it is convenient. But this is a very ordinary place with nothing to distinguish it. The bedroom was adequate but not very comfortable. The dining room is adequate, but pokey. The food at breakfast was adequate the first morning, but terrible the second day.... More

This is a real shame as I have stayed at (and reviewed) this hotel many times in the past. It's great for 2 people as they stay in the hotel. However, families are made to stay in what can best be described as a Portakabin in the car park. Yes, it's very nice on the inside, but it's very ugly... More

This hotel is very well located. Easy to reach by car (parking included), still only a few steps away from the old centre. Friendly staff. Spacious rooms, but more importantly, also clean. Plenty of space in the room (nr. 6) for the double-bed (queen size) and an extra single bed for a child. Certainly a place to recommend, and come... More

Castle House is perfectly placed being only a few minutes walk from the city centre so one can leave the car and explore on foot. We received a very friendly welcome from all the staff and were made to feel very special. Castle House is an historic building with many period features. We will certainly be visiting Castle House again. More
