After a two night stay at Nanny Brow, the only downside was that we hadn't booked for a week. The room was very comfortable, clean and had a wonderful view. All staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend.

My wife and I stayed at this B&B. It was raining and drizzling all the time, yet I cannot remember having such a good stay anywhere. The view from my bedroom was like a window onto paradise. All the splendor of the lake district can be found in one way or another within walking distance. very Very quiet. Sleep on... More

A peaceful, welcoming Arts and crafts B&B. Lovely location on the hillside overlooking the valley. The house has been tastefully restored back to its original condition with all the modern comforts you would expect in a top hotel. Fantastic breakfasts and lovely hosts. Will go back.

Stunning views from Nanny Brow. We had a relaxing family weekend staying in the cottage annex. The weather may not have been sunny but the accommodation was spotless and beautifully decorated. The breakfasts were delicious, so was the home made cake which we had every day. Although we were close to Ambleside the setting was peaceful, just what was needed.... More

We stayed here for our anniversary in early May and despite being dubious about B & B's, I have been proved wrong! Nanny Brow is luxurious and friendly at the same time. We arrived pushed for time and the owners made us sandwich platters and we were set for the day. They helped us prepare for our hike the following... More

After being impressed by the house on the website the reality is even more amazing. The owners are to be congratulated on the superb revitalisation. The house itself, the sitting room and dining room are fine examples of the 'Arts and Craft' period. The furnishings and decor are perfectly in keeping with these historical gems. This a major reason in... More

My partner & I have just spent four nights here and had a great time. Nanny Brow is a beautiful Arts & Crafts building with some lovely period details and furniture, particularly on the ground floor, and wonderful views. As sadly is so often the case in the Lake District, we didn't have wall to wall sunshine (sic) and so... More

Found Nanny Brow on tripadvisor and it certainly lived up to its reputation. Beautiful, peaceful location just a short distance away from bustling Ambleside. Loved the fact that their website clearly showed you pictures of each room and their different features. We chose the Brathay Suite and it was spacious and bright with gorgeous antique furniture and a stunning view... More

We have just arrived home after spending 3 days in the Lingmoor room. The owners make running a bed and breakfast look effortless. I do consultancy work within the Hotel industry and help to improve failing bed and breakfast and hotels on TripAdvisor within the Cotswolds. What I usually find is Hoteliers are reluctant to spend money on the all... More

This is a wonderful B&B and highly recommended. Great position for exploring the heart of the Lake District with lovely walks right on the doorstep. Beautifully furnished rooms, wonderfully warm when it was so cold outside, comfy bed with nice bedding and super power shower in an immaculately clean bathroom. Delicious breakfasts with one of the best fruit salads I... More
