Room nice but at 170.00 a night it should be. Location good, over looking lake and off the road. Food was the worst ever, I am 46 and have dined in a lot of places in most countries inthe wastern world and beyond: more importantly in a lot of English Inns and Pubs but this beats them all! The worst... More

After a rocky start with the duty manager, I can only praise the staff at the Wateredge. The rooms are adequate, not spacious but very clean with comfortable beds. The food is good and plentiful. They operate a residents priority policy and due to their location this is invaluable at peak times. I would stay at the Wateredge Inn again... More

Just returned from a 3 night stay at The Wateredge Inn, Ambleside. We had a spacious double room overlooking the lake from three different windows, all with magnificent views. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed was enormous and very comfortable. Breakfast is served in room with lake views and was very well cooked and nicely presented. We have... More

My wife & I didn't stay at the Wateredge but after visiting in the afternoon went back for an evening meal. Sorry we did. The wateredge Inn looks very nice with lovely gardens overlooking the lake, couldn't get a nicer setting. The down side. You have to queue for the meal ordering at the bar and the queue's were big... We did not stay at the hotel but, as residents of Ambleside we took family members out for a meal - we were very disappointed! No presentation in the plate of food, 12 chips and dried up peas, yes 3 of us had the usually good Large Fish n Chips, another member of our group had the Thai Chicken Curry... More

Whilst the location of this pub is excellent, it's obvious that the staff and management take full advantage. We had two meals for lunch on a beautiful day and both were pretty poor. One was bad enough to send back. On complaining we were told that it wad cooked as expected and that was the end of the matter. More

We have stayed at the Wateredge Inn three times in the last three years. It is excellent value for money. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help you. I hate the dinner, bed and breakfast thing in hotels as they are usual for the silver crowd and have no atmosphere.... More

We stayed here with our new baby in one of the ground floor garden suites. At £310 for 2 nights we didn't think this bad value as the room was huge, with space for 2 extra beds, and the service fab. The food was good pub grub, generous portions, and lovely breakfast. The renovated room and main bar area were... More

We booked a lake view room at £120 a night BB after a long conversation with a very helpful receptionist who understood we wanted a quiet room. Our room was a basic room with a bay window overlooking the lake. The window was open and the drone of the kitchens extractor fans was loud. I contacted reception to say this... More
