I am writing this from the free internet point in Lake House in Ambleside. A three day stay may be etended. We are surrounded by floodwater and are basically land locked until the floods subside. We can't walk more than 100 yards. The staff here have been fantastic, laying on sandwiches, tea and coffee. I cannot prasie the staff enough.... more

Stayed at the Lake House Hotel this weekend and had a great two nights there!!! Staff were freindly and helpful. Hotel was clean and queit!!! Room was large, lake view and clean and tidy!! the hotel is at waterhead a 10 min walk into ambleside and just over road from where you get the boat to bowness etc, we stayed in room 12 and enjoyed ourselves a lot, only downside was no bar downstairs but not really end of world as there are a couple in the hotels across the road, the rooms were... more

Very warm welcome and a lovely room overlooking the lake, we spent most of the time out walking but with a cosy, relaxed atmosphere to turn to was a pleasure after some chilly wet weather. far too expensive,very small bathroom (only for 1 person) with a very little mirror, tv didn'work,breakfast was rather poor (didn't even have a slice of cheese),luckly it was only for 1 night more

Small car park and quite small, easily negotiated if you are a confident driver - we parked our estate easily. Other reviews have stated that it isnt a hotel, they are correct, however, it is a beautifully clean and tidy establishment with very friendly staff.
