It is what it is, basic clean accommodation. It's cheap and that's all you get. I come to the lakes to be out and about and just need somewhere to sleep. This place has no frills, just a clean place to sleep.

An excellent location, just a few minutes from the centre of town, the bus station and the start of several walks. Rooms are small but clean, comfortable and perfectly well equipped. Breakfasts are tasty and nicely presented in the front lounge. The owner is friendly and very helpful.

Good for the price, we stayed in the annexe which was ideal with a dog. Nice breakfast with a veggie option and a decent sized room. Excellent location and free parking is helpful. Lots of lovely restaurants and shops nearby. We hoe to return soon.

Excellent position. Ideal for local restaurants etc. comfortable room which was spotlessly clean. As others have said, the parking is a bit tight, not helped by turning up in a Land Rover. We had a very nice stay at the ferndale lodge in ambleside. It was near the city centre and we had a very nice and clean room. Breakfast was perfect and the host was very polite. Will come back when we visit ambleside again.
