Did the trick - a cheap room, sparse but with the essentials in place and nice and clean. Recently refurbished I think. Just a short walk into Cockermouth. Little bar for breakfasts and beers before heading out or after a day of walking. Nice staff too. Recommended.

Situated outskirts of cockermouth but very quiet. We stayed here on Saturday night because it was close to the venue of a family wedding. Lovely setting with the mountains in the distance and what you'd expect from a travelodge. Very good value and easy to get to.
