Almost scared to rave about this cottage again incase it makes it more difficult to book. It's full of atmosphere and Helen and Robert really look after everyone. I'm writing this review because it always takes me a few days to leave it behind when I go back to work.

Just back from 5 glorious days in the lakes where the weather was excellent, the scenery sublime and the welcome tremendous. Buckle Yeat is perfectly located in arguably one of the prettiest hamlets in the Lake District, but a stone's throw away from Beatrix Potter's home. Our hosts were Robert and Helen, who made the visit all the more memorable... More

We chose this guest house after having read the reviews on Trip Advisor and, as indicated in the title, "One night was not enough." We arrived on a cold February evening to be welcomed by Robert and a roaring coal fire. The location, the food and the little touches such as home made shortbread in the bedroom were wonderful. The... More

We chose Buckle Yeat after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and we weren't disappointed. The location is peaceful with stunning scenery. The owners are very helpful and have their guests comfort as priority. Our room was spotless and the little extra of homemade biscuits with the tea and coffee was lovely! The breakfast! Wow! Spoilt for choice - I'm... More

A smashing old guest house with a breakfast to die for. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The village is about 1.5 to 2 miles from the Windermere Ferry so not far from Bowness, but it is also nicely secluded. Next door is the Tower Bank Pub which we ate at one night and the food was excellent in... More

Our family of four, including two children, spent a delightful week at Buckle Yeat in Near Sawrey. The guest house was convenient to all Beatrix Potter and Lake Poets sights, as well as to many beauty spots. It is no surprise that Beatrix Potter herself chose to live in Near Sawrey. The village itself is secluded, and was quiet and... More

Owners are so friendly and the location is fantastic. We had room 2 with lovely views over the fields, there was a window seat to read and listen to the sound of silence. I can't remember when I slept so well. The breakfast was amazing and after eating at 0830 we didn't eat again until 1900!! Pub next door with... More

We arrived on a very cold rainy day and what a welcomed sight this place was. Warm, comfy with a fire in the fireplace and a pot of tea. This place is just in front of Hilltop House and was featured in some of Beatrix Potter's illustrations. We had a wonderful stay here and didn't want to leave. The Kirby's... More
