We are just back from a marvellous stay at Crosthwaite House. We received a warm welcome and the fizz and ginger extra we had ordered went down very well after a 5 hour drive. Throughout the house all the beautiful touches make it a home from home. Breakfasts are exceptional and set you up for a day exploring. We cannot... More

We just got back from a lovely weekend away, staying at Crosthwaite House. We arrived in good time on Friday evening, despite both driving from work, as it was an easy journey as very south of the lakes, easy to get to and not too much driving off of the motorway. We were greeted with a very warm welcome from... More

Lovely old house with fantastic views across the Lyth Valley. We met Sam the owner who was great. Lovely big room with stylish decor & comfy bed. The bathroom is small but the large fluffly towels make up for it. Lovely touches throughout the house including fresh flowers in room & homemade cake and cookies to help yourself to in... More

We booked at Crosthwaite House as we were attending a family wedding at the local St Marys Church. We arrived on Friday afternoon and was greeted by Sam who took us directly to our lovely rooms. We also had my mother in law with us and they very kindly changed her from a single room to a double room, nothing... More

I want to second my friend's review below - Crosthwaite House is simply fantastic. From the lovely little design details around the house to the delicious homecooked breakfasts and treats (we found some Tiffin in our bag on the train home - result!), to the incredibly helpful advice about walks - it really is a total gem. A lucky internet search threw up this gem of a B & B. Wonderful views, fabulous atmosphere and great service. Breakfasts were amazing, great advice on walks and local knowledge.
