Just back from a 2 day, one night stay at Storrs Hall a hotel I last visited almost 30 years ago! On arrival, I had to say I was just a little disappointed as I thought the hotel looked a little tired and in need of some tender loving care. We had booked a good deal through one of the... More

Dear mollysouthport, A mixed bag called Storrs Hall. I can see something in that and I would like to use it to describe Storrs positively. We have 30 rooms and they are all (!) different. They vary in size, decor and views. The deals are attractive and good value. Depending on the type of deal rooms are allocated. On this... More

Second visit to Storrs Hall, wonderful service and attention to detail, breakfast was lovely and freshly cooked to order. Cream tea in the afternoon is not to be missed. Didn't eat evening meal at the hotel but went into town, 'you to me' Chinese was good and 'Villa Postilion' was amazing. Lots of nice places to eat and have a... More

Dear Paula E, You do not have to wait! Give us a call and we can see what we can do. An idea could be next time(s) to eat either in the restaurant and/or the bar, as both have their individual and attractive menus, as well as their own and different atmospheres. Thank you for taking the time to write,... More

I attended an overnight conference at Storrs Hall. The hotel is superb, the room was brilliant, and the breakfast, lunch and dinner were all of the highest quality. We enjoyed a lovely evening in the bar in front of the open fire. Thank you to the staff, especially Frank who smiled the whole time, their professionalism really made the stay.... More

Dear amina 1982 You are welcome and we like to thank you for writing about your impressions. Not many conference delegates do and so often guests do not think of Storrs as a suitable venue for their trainings and meetings. We do have suitable conference facilities for various size meetings and our approach is the same, as much as possible,... More

Dear wood84, Thank you taking the time to write, most appreciated. Reading your entry, you were booked in a House Room. Within the room category they vary in decor and size wise they are similar. We are always willing to show alternatives, when available and in some cases a different room category is chosen by the guest, which means usually... More

Storrs Hall was possibly one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The food was fantastic, both the evening taster menu down to the 2 course breakfast overlooking Lake Windermere. The room was also superb, we stayed in one of the suites that also overlooked the Lake. The staff could not have been more attentive during our stay. I... More

This was our first visit to Storrs Hall, and how we enjoyed it. We had a 4 night break and just couldn't fault any aspect of our visit. Hamish and the front of house staff were extremely courteous and caring but our favourite character was Fred the restaurant manager. What a beautiful person, extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of his... More

Dear tickledtrout, A break with a difference. These words are appreciated, thank you. The entry will be shared with all members of the staff. During ‘your’ New Year break it was great to organise a number of additional activities/events, as well as arrange evening music entertainment. The events one can join and the music is meant as background music during... More

I used to dine at Storrs Hall regularly a few years ago. It could always be relied upon to impresss guests with its fantastic views of the lake and fells, very high standards of food, wide wine selection and warm country house hospitality. No more! My pre-Christmas visit with ten guests (five from Japan) was really awful. It was cold,... More

Dear Bridgehouse_10, Thank you for expressing your opinion on your experience at Storrs Hall on Tripadvisor. Good and not so good entries are always discussed internally, with all concerned. Also in this case, to investigate and to learn from it. We were aware on the evening that there was a slight delay at the beginning. The numbers of guests had... More

Dear Dick F, First visit and not the last one. This is great to read and taking the time to write your entry on Tripadvisor is most appreciated. On our website we offer special offers and it gives an inside in our events-activities, which often can be combined with an overnight stay. This can be our Theatre lunches, Shakespeare at... More

A couple of years ago. I wrote a very glowing report about Storrs Hall. What a difference 2 years have made, the standards have dropped dramatically! Our latest visit got off to a bad start when they put us into a room which would be best described as a broom cupboard. The bathroom had no bath, the shower was in... More

Dear DJCDerbyshire, Thank you for your critical review on your visit, 23 and 24th January 2011. I do remember our conversation, which we had in our Rotunda area, around breakfast time. You did express that you needed to change rooms (which had been done already at that stage) and the surcharge was disappointing, though the conversation was pleasant and in... More
