The first time we stayed in the coach house was in July 2011 and we had a lovely relaxing break so we decided to return in April for Marks 47th birthday. Helen the owner of the coach house is a lovely lady, with a friendly approach and a lovely smile, she is there to greet you on arrival. We stayed... More

We arrived a little earlier than planned on Good Friday and Helen was there to welcome us with a smile. She promptly took us to our room, but actually gave us a choice of two. The rooms are quaint and cosy with the metal bed frames and pastel paint on the walls. A comfortable nights sleep was had. The next... More

We spent 3 days at the Coach House and didn't want to leave! Breakfast was lovely and Helen was a great host. The guides in the room were particularly helpful, especially in choosing were to eat and what walks to go on. The rooms were very uniquely decorated and the location is great. Would definitely stay here again.

Our third stay at The Coach House and it was as good as ever! A great welcome on arrival - the owner is very friendly and always happy to help - and then three nights at a place we've really grown to love! It's an ideal base for doing a bit of exploring around the Lakes and within easy walking... More

This place is great for its location and quaint decor. I was in room 3 which had a nice view overlooking the church. The room was a good size and the bed very comfortable. The room was light and welcoming with all the amenities needed. The town centre was only 5-10 minute walk and they offer free parking for 5-6... More

We went to the Lake District to celebrate my wife's birthday but I didn't mention this until Helen greeted us on our arrival. Quite unexpectedly the next day a box of chocolates appeared outside our room with a card - a very simple but lovely touch that really summed up our stay at The Coach House. The room was lovely... Spent three lovely nights at the Coach House. Found the rooms to be spotless.... breakfast all you could want. (Stretching the times a little would enable a wee lie in!!!) Very warm welcome from Helen and good advice on where to visit. Would visit again when next in The Lakes.
