Had a short mid week break bought as a present at the beginning of May, weather was lovely so made the most of it, the deal included a trip on Windermere very enjoyable. Ellerthwaite Lodge was a very enjoyable experience, staff pleasant and efficient, room spotless and breakfast was excellent freshly cooked to order, would recommend a stay here as... More

First time visitor using a living social offer. We loved the place and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. Nice to stay at a place where everyone likes to work. Spacious room and a great guest landing with outstanding views over the lake. Best place we have stayed in in all the years visiting the Lakes, will be... More

We liked this hotel well enough - it's fairly solid. Rooms are nothing special nor is breakfast, but the staff are lovely and helpful and seem to want you to have a good stay. We had a few minor issues - half opened biscuits in our room when we arrived, a stain on the duvet, no hot water one morning,... More

Stayed for two nights at the end of ApriL. Booked originally through living social, however i didn't realise that there was an expiry date on the voucher. Rang the Lodge who were more than happy to book us in at the same rate as the voucher and still honor the free bottle of wine and lake cruise. The B&B itself... More

The Ellerthwaite Lodge is a lovely, homely hotel. The accommodation was spacious, clean and everything had been considered. The staff were very friendly and welcoming - going that extra mile. I would recommend this hotel if wanted to explore Lake Windermere.

My wife and I stopped here on a short 'Living Social' deal from 17th - 19th April 2013. In fact it was a birthday present from her to me! First impressions were very good - an old hotel with lots of character. Very quiet and peaceful and that cosiness that comes from an old building. Then the staff - very... More

We stayed here in December on a mini Twixmas break for three nights. I booked the B&B based on reviews on Tripadvisor and am so glad i did. The hotel consists of quite a few floors with fairly small rooms but they are very well kept and quite traditional in their styling. As other reviewers have said, the rooms do... More

Thank you for your review. Yes from room 6 you can see Orrest Head, the first hill that Alfred Wainwright walked up which inspired him to explore the Lakes more. Just like our position in Windermere a great place to be inspired and discover the Lakes. We look forward to welcoming you back to Ellerthwaite Lodge. Gillian More

We had 3 nights at Ellerthwaite Lodge and had a great time. We stayed in the junior suite which has a 4 poster bed and a wonderful bathroom with huge bath. The staff were friendly and helpful and the cooked breakfast was great. Ellerthwaite Lodge is well placed to explore the south lakes and we would definitely return.
