I stayed one night at YHA Liverpool during my trip across England last June. It was allright - you get what you pay for. A bit run down, not very clean or modern but a place where you can spend the night. The location is good, the hostel is in walking distance from the city centre but quiet enough to... More

Stayed here with 2 friends for 2 nights. Good location for sightseeing, taxis required for pubbing/clubbing. Very odd foosty smell lingers about the place, particularly in the stairwells. A plug in air freshener and some Febreze wouldn't go amiss. Staff were lovely however. The worst most mentionable part would have to be that you are NOT supplied with ANY towels.... More

what a waste of money. friendly staff on arrival but thats the only plus about the place. our room had been flooded by the previous guest and told they couldnt do anything about it as they were full. the carpet was soaking wet and stunk. even with the window open all day. the beds themselves wernt comfy and difficult to... Staff were friendly and a really good location, but what a s*@"hole, room had a flooded carpet, bathroom was moldy, room stank of urine, doors hanging open on cupboards(kept banging knee on), fight in reception at 4.30am, constanting banging from above till gone 6am, wish i had spent the money on a taxi home or got arrested and stopped in... Stayed for 1 night, because of location (just short walk from main attractions and Albert Dock) and previous good experience with YHA. Everything I expected was delivered. Nice and cosy room, clean toilets and shower, polite staff...all what guy like me needed, nothing to complain about.

I stayed here for one night due to a family party in Liverpool and wanted a cheap bed for one night. Hostel clean and safe. Friendly staff. Nice for one night. NO BEDSIDE LIGHTS! so when I arrived in the dorm room at 1am and just wanted to sleep main light was on bright as one girl reading her book.... More

I stayed in an 8-bed dormitory room, which was nice and clean. My only problem was that the wifi is very expensive for someone on a low budget trip (£5 per day, but you are obviously out in the city most of the day). If you want to have breakfast there, it is also very pricy. Instead, I found two... More

If you are expecting plush hotel accommodation with all that entails then this place is not for you. What I got was a family room with ensuite and kitchenette for £49. No towels etc, TV, movie channels but a basic, clean room that would sleep me and my two children on our overnight stay. The YHA is a couple of... More

We were a group of four, the beds were bunk beds, with reading lights attached to the right upper side. The bathroom was not spotless, but not dirty. The walls were painted with the Beatle graffiti. The people were very friendly. Great place for budget travellers to meet such other travellers!!

Stayed with a large group in 2 private dorms. In my room: windows would not close properly so there was a draft, 1 of the lockable cupboards had no door, decor very old and didn't look clean in some parts of the room, ladies sanitary bin was full to the brim. Our other room and no table or chairs, the... More
