Great location for Eurostar train travel, but service leaves a lot to be desired. Room service did not answer their phone (3 times over 30 minutes), same for Concierge. Called Spa, got voicemail, left a message, never received a return call (or appointment). Very disappointing service in a beautiful hotel.

Don't let the front of this old dame fool you. Nestling inside is a throughly modern hotel all-be-it in very well restored surroundings. Technology is often done badly or over used in hotels. Probably the best hotel near the main line stations north of the Euston Road, provided that you can afford it! Sumptuous surroundings in a unique historic building superbly restored and extended. We stayed here before catching the Eurostar. Very, very convenient. Room was very comfortable but looked out over the station roof - not really an issue given the history of the building and what we were using the room for. They have done a great job on the refurbishment. Did not eat at the hotel. Breakfast was £18 so ducked... More

A very successful renovation, the hotel has real class, good service and, for London, is reasonably priced. The rooms are comfortable and spotless but can be a long walk from reception. The live music in the booking office bar on saturday evening was a nice touch.
