This is our "family hotel" and we have been staying here for three generations. The service is excellent throughout. We wondered if the refurbished Connaught would be the same and I have to say that for the most part, it is. The Connaught was the perfect London experience. From the concierge that would arrange anything for you 24/7 ("Andrew at the Connaught"), to walking outside the hotel strolling in Mayfair and Oxford and Bond streets, to having your shoes shined or trousers pressed (and taken up without asking!), or enjoying high tea. This hotel has a perfect location, wonderful bars and restaurants, very helpful staff and good bathrooms but the bedrooms really let it down. We had a "deluxe King" bedroom which was unbelieveably small. Following its recent renovations gave the Connaught a try. Very pleasantly surprised. The renovated guest rooms are of high quality, albeit tiny by any standard. Still, the size of the guest room, and the requirement to stand in the bath tub to take a shower are not the reasons to choose this hotel. There are other London hotels that do... more

November 2008 stay was magnificent. The refurbishment has done wonders. So chic, so elegant. The mahogany staircase is breathtaking. The room was large and so tastefully decorated.
