Best location - right next to Embankment tube station - and close to trafalgar square/Charing cross. Bed was very hard - so be careful if you like soft beds.. Also if you are a light sleeper - you can hear people outside the door closing their doors. But room was clean and looks good- and again location location!

Amazing to step a few paces off Whitehall and find such an elegant street with this wonderful hotel. Adjacent is the old Liberal Club and behind the hotel the colourful Embankment Gardens. Really a lovely stay. The rooms are very well appointed. Every need accommodated. The room seem to have been recently refurbished. The only negative is if you end up with an interior view room. Dark with opposite walls close enough to touch. However being a listed building there aren't many options. Still it is a lovely hotel!

The Hotel is quite well located, walking distance (5 minutes or less) from: Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden and Theatreland, Leicester Square, St James's Park, Parliament Square, London Eye, as well as Embankment and Charing Cross Tube Station. stayed July 2011. service staff were fantastic. room we had was very spacious, good light, water views and nicely furnished. not contemporary but definitely not aged. location was great, walking distance to soho, covent gardens, the eye, theatre area and Victoria station. alternatively, plenty of buses and taxis available otherwise tube station very close by.
