Great experience on a one night stay. Long on style and not too high on price (£150 through Expedia). Ambience very chilled, in keeping with the Zen Garden. Quiet location with easy access to great eateries and Paddington/Lancaster Gate Tubes and Hyde Park. Bedroom had plenty of space and light, crisp eyptian cotton bedding great pillows and decent TV choices.... More

e went there yesterday night to take benefit of a nice offer : 6 courses Tasting menu + 1 cocktail at £35. The food was really nice, good portions and excellent attention to detail. Starter was a beetroot salad, nothing super-exciting but well executed. Second starter was a very nice smoked salmon with organic pickled carrots, excellent and very well... More

I stayed here for 1 night whilst on a business trip. I actually rather liked it and the service I received from their staff was excellent - very friendly and helpful. the room was large with a separate seating area which was nice - I wish I'd had more time to spend relaxing on the massive sofa! Only thing was... More

Stayed here for 1 night for a business meeting and wasn't as impressed as I thought I was going to be. The hotel is minamalist and contempory which is fine, with lots of white walls, which I thought in some areas needed a lick of paint. The foyer is nice, with sunken seating and a bit unique. The meeting room... More

What a complete and utter disaster for a hotel. The layout of the hotel, from the reception to the rooms is very unwelcoming, extremely unsafe - I fell down the unnecessary stairs in my room during the night - and strangely odd. Oh, and the service is awful verging on diabolical. Every time I had reason to complain, my complaint... More

Two night stay at the Hempel. We booked a junior suite. Arrived at 5.40pm to be told the room wasn't ready. We were seated in the very modern lobby on a padded bench and given a drink while we waited 20 mins for someone to clean the room. Good points were that the receptionist was very apologetic and the bar... More

The Hempel is a strange hotel in that it seems to have many facets to it. Firstly, the good parts. The typical London townhouse entrance opens out to a clean and impressive reception area. Staff on the front desk were freindly and very helpful even when I asked to move rooms due to a bizzare bathroom layout which would have... More

Got bumbed up to a junior suite, and while I know should be very grateful for the upgrade, I was glad we were only stopping for the night! For a junior suite, it felt very cramped and rather like a room in an assylum with all the white walls, and little cubby holes housing the toilets, bath and bed. And... More

Wow, what a find this hotel is. Very unassuming to look at (although all the buildings in this area are so attractive) but once inside it's a very different story. My husband had flown into London early morning. He went to the hotel and they did their utmost to get his room ready. He was able to store his luggage... More

We were so excited about this hotel, but were greatly disappointed. The rooms look awesome on the website, and they are gorgeous, clean, modern; but they were terribly noisy, to the point that we couldn't sleep at night. The restaurant staff were very nice though, friendly and courteous. More
