Ok people it is what it is. Amazing location in London and considering that it is very quiet. Dont stay here if you can't deal with stairs as it is an historic hotel with no elevator and many levels. Clean and basic but if you just need a crash pad with a great location this place is for you. Would... More

My wife and I stayed for four nights last July in the Edward Lear. We then moved to another hotel. We should have moved the first day, but we were tired and had too many things to do. First, as many have pointed out, the Edward Lear has a very good location. But then so so many other hotels. It... More

I have been staying at Edward Lear on numerous occasions since 2005 and the experience has been pleasant every single time. The location simply can’t get any better – it’s on the quiet street behind Marble Arch, which guarantees you a good night sleep and at the same time it’s literally seconds away from Oxford Street. Bus stop is right... More

An inexpensive hotel, but price isn't enough to offset the issues. Hotel is still under renovation and apparently from other reviews it has been for some time. No evidence of any work taking place. Having lived in Europe for 3 years now, we're accustomed to small rooms, but our room was small, the carpet was extremely dirty, not a single... More

One week stay in Mid October 2010 in room 11, which is quite large by London B&B standards with separate bathroom and stall shower on the small side. Rug on floor is stained but the room is otherwise clean. Yes the breakfast room is on the small side. All you can eat with real orange juice, not the orange aide... More

I would consider the hotel expensive, but that's based on a Spanish salary! The location is splendid, the staff agreeable, the rooms good and the atmosphere quiet. Don't expect any lifts, even for the rooms on the 5th floor!

We stayed here for 4 days on a site seeing break in London, hotel looks a bit dingy outside, all the hanging baskets were full of dead flowers, and the reception/hall/breakfast areas of the hotel are very run down looking, they had signs up saying that they were doing renovations at present apart from tape and boarded up areas there... My friend and I stayed here back in 2003 pleasantly surprised by the nice large room with a full in-suite bath tub we booked though it was quite high without an elevator to help with our suitcases and a rickety staircase with steps that tilted in all sorts of directions. The morning full breakfast was a nice bonus and filled... More
