Have stayed here on business several times. Staff very friendly and welcoming. I like the fact that they welcome me by name - I know they're prompted by their computer, but it's still nice to feel you're being treated as an individual. I particularly like the fact that after staying only a handful of occasions, they automatically upgrade your room:... More

Wanted: Hotel close to Shaftsbury Theatre, with good travel route from Paddington. The offer: "room for romance" package (as it was an anniversary we decided to go for it!). Check-in at 3pm into a double Superior room. Champagne on arrival. 3-course evening meal. Full English breakfast and late check-out at 2pm!! Journey from Paddington to Russell Square took about 20mins... More

We booked here because The Megaro (Kings Cross) was full. The room was nice although the walls were clearly made of paper mache (we may as well have shared a room with next door), the bathroom was horrible (needed a re-furb 10 years ago), the staff were average as seems par for the course (Megaro excluded) in London, but my... Stayed here for one night after picking it based on price from laterooms.com. I paid £90 for the room for us for my partner's Birthday. It was clean and much more than I was expecting. As we sat in reception I witnessed people come off the street and pay £250 for the same level of room. This is within walking... More

Booked in for NY Eve 2011 with daughter and son in law at a good bargain price. Our room was on the lower ground floor which I do have a bit of a phobia about. Unfortunately, no other double rooms were available although there was one in the sister hotel next door. When we went in, it wasn't too bad... More

Stayed here for one night on business trip. Room was small but very nice with elements of designer/individual touches that made it very appealing. Had some difficulty getting TV to work but reception sorted it out very quickly. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic with good mix of waiter/self service. When the full English arrived I nearly passed out as the plate... More

Have stayed several times at the Blooms and Whitehall hotesl on business. Booked a family room at the Blooms but were moved to the Whitehall on arrival. We didn't mind as find the Whitehall superior. Our family room was G1 and was basically a converted meeting room whihc was disappointing. The double bed was a bed in a wardrobe which... More

Stayed at hotel as I was in London for special event. Flew into Heathrow so it was very handy for Russell Sq underground. Arrived before 2pm but there was no problem leaving suitcases and enjoying a walk to Covent Gdns. Room on the smallish side but sure you are only sleeping in it, asked for rooms at rear of hotel... I booked a stay here using the "Top Secret Hotel" feature at LastMinute, and so paid just 75 pounds for a double room. I arrived late in the evening, and the only room available was in the basement. Because of other reviews on this site I was reluctant to take this, and explained that I really wanted a view of... More

I actually stayed here two years ago, and it was for a digital workshop. Ironically, they only have cable Internet - no WiFi! Plus, the cable Internet was metered. What I did was have dinner at the hotel across the street so I could use their free WiFi connection. The hotel is nice, though, with its quaint feel. Not to... More
