Spent the weekend at the Mal for the 2013 FA cup final, took three rooms for a couple, two teenagers and my eldely dad. Excellent throughout, very good staff and breakfast was excellent - typical 'Mal' style. The square is free of traffic so no typical London noises to disturb us. Great bar areas.

The garish black & purple colour scheme with velveteen-covered seating is reminiscent of a Victorian bordello and gives a rather dark mood-dropping aura to the rooms and public areas. Stayed at Malmalson for 5 days. Had to change rooms 3 times (hot water, TV & misc problems in different rooms). Rooms are really small but practical. Not much around the hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. OK as business hotel but not for tourist.

We enjoyed a two night stay at Malmaison on the London Marathon weekend. We have stayed before and have always found the staff to be both very pleasant and helpful particularly in the Restaurant.
