3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 May 2013 NEW

We found this Hotel had very good service and all the facilities we needed for a 2 night stay in London. However, we were in the "Mews" rooms at the back. These are new additions in a courtyard area. We found the movement of people around outside rather noisy on wooden stairs; blinds on the windows not enought to keep... More

I stayed 2 nights in the Russel Suite (bedroom, sitting room, bathroom). Lovely accommodation and sense of being "at home". Breakfast is either in the main hotel (continental - small executive lounge style) or over the road as a full english. Location is great for the British Museum and other central attractions. 10 min walk from Kings Cross.

Nice location, nice staff. Bedrooms are nice, spacious, clean. I stayed there several times over the last couple of years, experienced different sized bedrooms (from huge bedrooms to single ones). Some of the bedrooms have "rattly" windows though. Bit annoying. Breakfast is OK, not mush room though in the breakfast room though. The only downside is that there is no... More

This is a pretty good find for a bolt-hole. Excellent for an overnight stop in the Russell/Tavistock square/Holborn area. Do not come here expecting great facilities, but just about everything that you need is here. Check-in was fast and efficient. My room was on the top floor. OK, no lift and quite a hike up the stairs, but it was... More

Like others reviewing this hotel, I have stayed here four or five times over the last seven years. I agree that it used to represent better value but I guess that could be said for many places. It is still very good value when deals are available; I have just stayed in a double room for £99 with a booking... More

Nicely located near Russell square but a little off the standard tourist trail. Old Georgian terraces with small rooms tucked inside. No lift. Some rooms reasonably small and all a little different. Good hot buffet breakfast next door at college included. No change from previous stays and same hit and miss service depending on who happens to be at the... More

Booked a single room for a business stay, often stay London for work and looked for something different from my usual hotel near Tavistock Square. It was a much longer walk than expected, not close to any Tube, allow at least 15 minutes from Kings Cross or Russell Square. Check in fast and pleasant in a small room by the... More

We stayed at the Hotel over night overall the Hotel itself was lovely very clean, newly refurbished and very comfortable although our room was on the 3rd floor and there are lots of narrow stairs. The area of the hotel was lovely over looking a park and quite quitet at night. The let down was the breakfast it was across... More

This is a great place to stay within walking distance of Kings Cross, Covent Garden, Oxford St and loads of places, but still in a very quiet square. The tube is just around the corner if you want to venture further afield, and as a single woman traveller I felt completely safe walking back from the tube late at night.... More

I have been staying here with work for several years. The location is excellent, cleanliness good and (as a woman on my own) I always feel safe and welcomed. For the first few years the service was excellent, the breakfast really good - some of the rooms were lovely and others less great (but you got a nice room often... More
