we initially made our decision on booking this particular hostel as it stated that towels AND breakfast were included in the price. Upon arrival we found that they were not and were not impressed, especially considering that we had to pay 3.50 for a used towel; not impressed at all! as for our first room, it was nothing short of... I did spend 3 nights there in end of january. Temperature outside was around 0 celsius and in room wasn't much warmer. Linen ja matresses were damp and started already grow mould, i mean they really smell rotten. Those old military barrackbeds are starting to break and the whole night i was scared that my 100kg will land on the... More

First hostel experience was great. Great location in a quieter part of town, but still near transport. Stayed in a private room, nice thing walls so it was quiet even with people drinking and smoking in the front. Very secure and always check key cards. Staff was great and helped carry bags Clean and comfortable... laid back atmosphere More

Go to this hostel if you want to meet other backpackers. Most of the guests are young (less than 25yrs) and there is a bar inside the hotel. There are many travel services that were convenient like onsite travel "agent", free wifi in the lobby, cafe, cheap breakfast, lockers, etc. I stayed in the luxury female dorms and found them... Checking into the neon reception area, the prominence of the security staff (it was midday) and the fact that the reception staff are all in high-visibility jackets makes me somewhat concerned. Upon arriving at my second floor room, immediately it becomes apparent that I am right to be concerned. The room STINKS, I mean, abolutely honks. The odour appears has... More

As long as you have a good pare of ear plugs, an older person in a private room at the Generator is great. A really good secret. Affordable lodging in London. The location is great, the people fantastic, the average resident a bit young, exuberant, and rowdy ... but all in all great people More

In terms of hostels you cant really look past the generator when you're in london! Fun people, great vibe and clean fascilities. The bar is always pretty busy and there are always cold WKD's waiting to be drunk! The only downside... staying in a room that was right near the generater... it was pretty loud at times! More

Ok...Perfect location BUT I've been there a few times and my last 'experience' was very disapointing. First of all, on the website it says breakfast included, but when you get there they charge £4,50 for cereals and toast...(!?) The breakfast was included for the last years for the same price, now you just get nothing for the same price. PLUS,... More

Booked this for 5 nights at the last minute, average price for a twin private room. The room itself was not bad, we had more than enough space and the beds were comfortable with their own bed lamps on the side with electric sockets. Security is a bit excessive compared to over hostels, they check your room card everytime you... More
