Friendly and good value traditional guest house. About a mile and a quarter from Middlesbrough town centre- taxi recommend from station. Breakfast served early (7-8am); simple and tasty.. Room recently refurbished, and shared shower - unlike too many similar places- actually worked properly!

We were asked to phone the proprietor half an hour before we arrived and he was there waiting for us. Very friendly welcome. Our room was very comfortable, with twin beds. Private bathroom not en-suite but just across a corridor where no-one else would come. Good-sized wardrobe and plenty of drawer space, TV, hospitality tray with tea, coffee, milk, sugar and kettle. No hairdryer in the room when we arrived but it was supplied in plenty of time for our morning shower. Full English breakfast or your choice of what you prefer. Plenty of orange juice, cereals, toast as well. Choice of fried or scrambled eggs. Cooked perfectly. Guests lounge with comfy chairs and sofa. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. On-street parking free with the residents' parking permit that was supplied. You get 45 minutes free without the permit, so no mad rush to put it in the car. Located next to Albert Park, which we walked through to get to Central Park Restaurant (½ mile walk) for an excellent evening meal. About 1½ miles from the town centre. Very reasonable rates. We would definitely stay again.

I stayed here for work. The communication from the guesthouse was very good before my stay. There is on road parking and I found a space easily. My single room had a really comfy bed and a large window. The bathrooms are shared between the rooms. There is a stand for bath mats outside the bathroom so each person can get a new one which I thought was a really nice touch. The host made me a lovely cooked vegetarian breakfast in the morning with coffee and there was also an option to have cereal.

Stayed here for a local wedding, and it was ideal. The manager was very friendly, everything was well organised and incredibly clean! The cooked breakfast was delightful. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend!
