Just got back from another lovely stay - just as we like it we were left alone to do our thing after a lovely warm welcome, very clean room, lovely veggie breakfast and Charlie even got porridge in specially for Johnny. Top location right on the crescent with loads of free onstreet parking right outside.

From the moment of booking to the morning of our departure we were made welcome by Charlie and family. Excellent full English breakfast and a comfortable king sized.bed. Even impressed our 16 year old daughter when Charlie gave her access to Wi Fi. The next time we are in Whitby we will book in at the Avalon.

Had a weekend at Avalon with 6 good friends and just want to say that Charlie and his staff made us all feel very welcome.... nothing was to much trouble .Very comfortable lovely room .....be back in November Charlie ...... Helen & gang .

This was our first time to the Avalon. We found the accommodation very comfortable and very clean. Charlie the host was extremely helpful and accommodating. He presented us with an excellent breakfast, we certainly didn't need anything to eat till tea time. We're looking forward to a return visit. Sam & Paul

Stayed here after reading reviews on trip advisor, cannot believe how disappointed we were. Room very outdated furnishings, wallpaper hanging off the wall, bathroom (if you could call it that) no bath, dirty shower and dirty carpet.
