We stayed here for a Valentine's night and loved it! We were in room no.1 which was huge complete with four poster bed, lovely fruit and flowers. The staff were really friendly. The food at the restaurant was fantastic both for dinner and for breakfast. We would definiately come back.

This hotel is situated in the country about 2 miles from Whitby. My retirement function for a group of 17 people was recently held at this hotel and though only staying for only one night can endorse all the other reviews re the hotel. The only downside was that we had the room with creaking bed but this did nothing... More

Just spent 2 days at this hotel. A relaxing break within easy access of Sandsend and Whitby. We stayed in Room 1 - a four poster bed and a large room. The hall dates back to the 12 century and the refurbishment has maintained a lot of the 'old world' charm. The food was great and the staff were extremely... More

We were shown to a spacious well appointed room with a four poster bed. The room was clean and very comfortable with garden and sea views. The staff were welcoming and friendly and a superb breakfast was served next morning. The hotel is situated in a lovely location and the drive back towards the main road affords wonderful views of... Stayed two nights Bed and Breakfast for £99-00 on a Groupon deal. Could not have asked for anything better. We had room No.1 on the ground floor which is enormous and on both nights we had the market menu with a bottle of very nice wine included. The whole dinning experience and the service from all the staff was always... More

Got a 2 for 1 deal with breakfast through buyagift. This made the stay excellent value for money. THE SETTING - The hotel is situated in a nice, quiet rural area, ample parking and well kept, relaxing grounds. It is about a mile and half from Sandsend and a 5 minute drive from Whitby.
