Arrived staff friendly and courteous room lovely bathroom good hearty breakfast good selection of continental choice which my wife was pleased with would not hesitate to book and stay again would recommend it .

Quaint. Bedrooms are clean and a good size. The hotel is a 20 minute easy walk to the centre of York. Modern en-suite facilities. Has a guest house feel. Friendly staff. Quite a few stairs if you are in the rooms at the back.

The Holgate Hill Hotel is situated just outside the city walls, but very convenient with a buss stop outside. Friendly owner, the ideal place to spend a long week-end in this fantastic city if you are on a budget.

A good value option if you are driving into or through York. There is car parking at the front of the hotel. Friendly, clean and well placed hotel. Very highly recommended and great value for money. Perfect for anyone thinking of visiting York. Friendly staff made it a pleasure and fine breakfast an added bonus.

This is a well run little place. Clean and welcoming. I liked the attention to detail of the staff. For example there was a good choice of breakfast cereal and over Easter there were hot cross buns and choccie eggs at breakfast. Walking distance to York city centre if you're doing the tourist thing.
