This is the second time I have stayed at this outstanding B&B. In Newcastle on business, I opted to stay an extra 20 miles out of town to enjoy the personal service and idyllic setting of Fairshaw Rigg. From the warm family welcome, beautiful scenery and first class breakfast, this really is a home from home who like to make... More

We stayed with Paul and his family recently and have to agree with all the other "excellent" reviews. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our beautifully appointed room looking our onto the farm fields and gardens, Paul told us of an old country pub nearby where we had an excellent dinner and chat with the locals, it was a... Glad I seem to have looked after you so well - I'm often accused of hiding Kathryn away - truth is she's always busy behind the scenes!! Fairshaw Rigg is very much a team effort - not forgetting Lesley our "housekeeper" and daughter Hannah who always helps when she can. Hope you enjoy the rest of your tour and we'd... More

My husband and I recently stayed here on our way to Scotland, for just one night. From the moment we arrived in this beautiful region of England, we wished we could have stayed longer, especially at Fairshaw Rigg. Paul and Kathryn deserve all the praise and compliments they have received, we can wholeheartedly echo them all. We had a wonderful... More

A spotless place. Really homely. Breakfast was faultless. And a lovely couple to boot. What more could you ask for . Stayed there for 2 nights and loved it. They even book your restaurants if you want and taxi. The restaurants know where your from and give you top quality service also. Well worth stopping over if your passing.

For cyclists at the end of the day it is a bit of a tiring plod up the hill from Hexham - but 100% worth it. Fabulous, peaceful and relaxing b and b, where everything is perfect - from the simply delicious soup to the bath!
