We were walking Hadrian's wall and this was an obvious place to stop. We were really looking forward to staying in an old fashioned pub. The pub itself was great but the accommodation was very poor. The bed was very old and broken, the bathroom was tiny and out of date, and the room smelt of cheap air freshener and... More

We eat here twice during our visit to the area walking the wall. We both thought it was good value for money and enjoyed our meals on both occasions. There are daily evening specials that are well worth waiting for. This appears about 6pm and is changed daily. The sweets are particularly good at £4.95. Good atmosphere and popular with... More

We stayed here two nights as part of our Hadrian's Wall walk. The staff was welcoming and polite. The food was as others have said, standard pub food. The portions large and tasty. Our room was was clean, well lit and comfortable. There is a boot room for smelly hiking gear. I would happily stay here again.

We did not stay overnight, but ate here twice for both lunch & dinner at the end of day 3 (one of the easier days) of our Hadrian's Wall Path walk. The food was fine for normal pub fare, whilst the beers were quite varied and generally good. The service was no more than adequate, and we were quite pleased... More

We booked 2 rooms at Twice Brewed after walking Hadrians Wall and in general our stay was quite enjoyable, until around 10.30pm when the barman who had gleefully greeted us earlier suddenly became miserable that we were still happily enjoying our pints and not shuffling off to our rooms as he had obviously hoped. I guess we should have expected... More

We stayed here for one night while on a weekend away incorporating some walking with shopping and a gig at the Newcastle Metro Arena. The room overlooking the main road was lovely, modern furnishings, warm, clean and comfortable. The evening meal in the restaurant was nice with decent sized portions, typical pub fayre. We were told at check in that... More

WE spent a night at the Twice Brewed Inn with two friends in March 2013, on a Groupon deal. The Inn is set up for people who want accommodation convenient for walking on the Roman Wall. Both the rooms were lovely, with clean modern furnishings, comfy beds and a fantastic view. Both rooms were ensuite, ours a shower and our... More

Arriving for lunch on a cold spring day we were told that the empty bar couldn't accommodate our small, clean, well behaved dog and we'd have to eat in the beer garden. This was a grotty gravelled area with wet plastic chairs, busy with chilly dog owners shivering over their beer. A woman at a desk actually laughed at us... More

Stopped here yesterday for a light lunch. It was freezing cold outside but a lovely warm friendly cosy greeting when inside. A good selection of ales on offer and the wine was very good too. We each had a bowl of homemade soup which was very tasty and plentiful. The staff could not have been more helpful nothing was a... More

Had a family meal for 4 on a Saturday lunchtime and we were told we could not eat in the dining room; the hotel literature states differently. A pint of 4.4% ABV real ale was tasteless. I had a cheese burger in a bun with chips and salad costing £7.55, very nice. The other three diners chose chicken curry including... More
