Tucked down one of the side roads the Angel is easy to find, let down only by the lack of parking, but that comes with Medieval towns. We stayed in the Camargue room, which was well equipped and spacious. Once the heating kicked in, it was extremely warm with the ability to relax in bed, have a coffee and watch... more

Recently we have stayed in hotels and this was our first foray into Restaurants with Rooms. Attracted by the two rosettes for food and an excellent deal we arrived with some trepidation. Tucked away off the main road, but easy to find, we arrived to a warm welcome from Paul. Our room was spacious and delightfully bright with a nice... more

The welcome on arrival makes up fully for the absence of parking accommodation. Helpful guidance on a parking place, an immediate carrying-in of suitcases, excellent first=floor bedrooms (tho' a tortuous staircase), and a warm and welcoming bar, followed by an innovative and enjoyable menu in the Dining-room. Fully recommended. more

what a lovely place. we were directed to the Angel by another hotel in Burford and we are so glad that we took the advice. The Angel is situated along a side road in Burford, giving you peace and quiet from the high street. The owner Mr Paul Swain is a very friendly and likable person. The service is impeccable... more

We had a very warm welcome and were shown to a French bed room nicely decorated with everything you could possible need , lovely big fluffy towels which were a delight, the only slight complaint was the slowness of the water for filling the bath and the poor shower. The buiding is full of character being 400 years old and... more

If you love peace and quiet and great food then this is the place for you. Paul and Sandra are great hosts and made us feel very welcome from the start. We slept in the Simione room which has a nice classical theme with roman and geek art everywhere. The bed was fantastic, Comfortable and with real sheets. The bathroom... more

We booked our stay based on previous reviews and helped along by the mid week deal. We loved the hotel, the room was really comfortable and individual - we stayed in the Madras room, with a really comfy bed. Paul the owner was very friendly and really helpful with suggestions on things to do in the area as well as... more

We decided on a short break in the Cotswolds and after looking at the reviews for this hotel on Tripadvisor decided to book in. On arrival we were given a warm welcome from Paul and shown to the room we had booked. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the care and love lavished on the decoration of the room reflects... more

I booked on the basis of the other reviews, and they were all correct. The Angel is cosy, welcoming and charming from start to finish. A very warm welcome, a lovely room with very comfortable bed (they are better than the pictures on the Angel's website!), and an Inn with charm and character. There is a small sitting room upstairs... more

Just returned from a two night stay at the Angel. Absolutely excellent. Booked directly with the hotel. Paul and Sandra welcoming and friendly. The italian room we stayed in was the nicest hotel room we have ever stayed in. Attention to detail was second to none. Even down to cotton wool balls and cotton buds for the ladies. The bathrobes... more
