We chose this hotel because of its gardens and view to the city. Unfortunately there were no rooms on that side of the hotel, but the room we had was enormous, with a great big comfortable bed. The bathroom was also more spacious than standard, and for once our towels were left hanging on the rails for reuse as we... More

We stayed here in September 2010. We were in Bath for the Jane Austen festival, and were in full atire and attended the Regency Ball. This hotel was the perfect setting for such a weekend. English style, with a beautiful private English garden at the back which had direct access to our room. The breakfast was first class, and the... More

Convenient location 10 minute walk to centre sights and restaurants . I would definitely say this is not a hotel more a very expensive B&B . Staff were friendly and helpful breakfast very good . The whole place looks tired and worn , and there is a constant smell of food cooking as you walk in the front door suprising... More

We had checked out of an awful Best Western in Loxton and Googled to find a nice hotel for 1 night. The lady owner was most helpful, gave a good room at good rate and by the time we had got our bags the other free room was also gone. Gorgeous room. Clean, everything worked. Great views. Quiet. Friendly but... More

Booked The Empire Room (4 Poster) for an Anniversary Break in August, we both enjoyed it so much we booked it again, this time for a long weekend, coinciding with the start of the Xmas Fair at the end of November. This Hotel, with its classic architecture and decor has various styles on rooms, with prices to match. Have a... More

We've visited Bath many times, more often staying with friends but this weekend found ourselves looking for a hotel. It was the middle of Christmas Market season and The Ayrlington was the only hotel in Bath it seemed who would accept a one night booking for which we were thankful. The Ayrlington is a short walk from the centre and... More

Stayed here one night in September on a stop ever to Cornwall. Was in a room on the top floor and this was NOT 4/5*. Room was incredibly dusty and old fashioned. Traffic noise was terrible. You had to literally slam the door to get it to shut. Cushions on bed scabby. stains on walls. Ipod docking station thick with... More

Not good value for money. We booked the Zen room, it looked much bigger in the photos. Will not come back. Was expecting more. The spa vouchers were not what we thought they would be either. Wouldn't recommend. Definitely not a five star hotel. It's more like a B&B. Staff were friendly and polite. More

My boyfriend and I were looking for a last minute place to stay in Bath close to the centre. The Ayrlington luckily had a cancellation for a night (they have a 2 night policy on weekends) and they knocked off £10 for us (a drop in the ocean when a deluxe room will set you back £190 usually). Great location,... More
