I was there last year and loved. The hotel is charming and very welcoming, the food is excellent. The couple, owners, are very attentive and nice as'm Brazilian they were kind enough to look for more information on Brazil just to talk. I recommend to everyone! Regards Pricila Saiki

i have been going to the abbey hotel now for ten years twice a year. staff are very frendly and the owners are very nice to its easy to get to and near city centre .the room are hot very clean the breakfast are very good .you have retail park just across the road

The hotel manager was very frendly and could do enough to help us out. . it so lovely to stay a independent hotel than a chain .never been to the area .I found it was in a good location and only ten minutes walk to the bars and restaurants. the room was very cosy and clean,

I've been in this hotel on the recommendation of friends. The place is really good. It has an excellent and personalized service, friendly staff and the owners are lovely, great rooms and a breakfast typically English. It is situated near the city center in a great location. I intend to return other times I really recommend this hotel.

Over priced, terrible service no restaurant or bar open, on a very noisy road. The room was tired, on a positive note the heating works and curtains black out curtains, would have been nice to open a window but unless you are accustomed to traffic at very close quarters you'd get no sleep. I definitely will not be returning here.

Once you step into the property you think back in the 1970's. Pleasant, freindly & helpful staff (family run business). Room was accessed by very narrow stairs & corridor with dated carpet & wallpaper. Room was at the front of the property facing onto the main road. Stayed here Sat night 19/5/12 pleasent welcome was the good bit ! hotel is gloomy dark corridoors our room had 70's furniture stained woodchip wall paper lumpy floor coverd in a stained carpet NOT worth £65 bed & breakfast if it was £30 we wouldnt complain
