We arrived late on Saturday, having booked through Latebooking.com the previous night, only to find that our booking hadn't been received by the Hotel and they were not expecting us. Oh horror! Thankfully the situation was not a problem to them, they took us at our word, accepted us and two Standard Poodles (dogs by arrangement - we thought that... More

This hotel is within a really old and somewhat quirky building. I stayed in room 3 which was full of ancient wood beams and accompanying uneven floor. While the room was a little cool on arrival, this was resolved by simply turning up the heat a little. The bed was very comfortable but the duvet proved to be far too... More

This is a mixed review, we stayed here for 1 night, the abbey hotel is truly a gorgeous historic building, we were checking in late so called ahead with 30 minutes to arrival, the greeting was friendly, and we were shown to our room, on entering the room first thing we noticed was how freezing cold the room was, now... Arrived early morning. The car park is quite small and very narrow vehicle entrance. we were greeted by a pleasant chap on reception. Quick easy check in. Shown to rooms promptly. Rooms okay comfortable beds, well heated rooms a bit of dust around on surfaces. Mould showing in corner of shower unit. No bath. Quite a small on suite but... More

This well-located, quaint hotel, with beams, fireplace & genuine period features, really delivers what it promises. When the wi-fi didn't work, the charming man on Front Desk immediately ordered his IT man to fix it & the next day I had a fast & reliable Internet access. It's available throughout the hotel. Breakfast is excellent, freshly cooked, generous portions &... More

We stayed in a family room which is like a little house across the car park. downstairs there was a little kitchenette (fridge, sink, hospitality tray and microwave), a bathroom with a bath and shower cubicle, and two single beds. there are steep stairs to a mezzanine area with a double bed. The downsides were that the double bed was... More
