My partner, dog and I stayed at the Wheatsheaf Inn at the weekend. The staff and locals were really friendly and the room was clean and had charectureful traditional beams on the ceiling. The gardens were really nice and had plenty of room for the dog to run about in. There was a medieval feast on the saturday evening which... More

I made the mistake of staying at this place the night before a job interview...... Being cheap, this appealed as I was unable to claim expenses for the interview. There was no welcome when I arrived, I didn't even have to give my name. After queing at the bar, the barman saw I was carrying an overnight bag and greeted... More

I recently booked a room at the Wheatsheaf for the 17th August 2012, at that time the person I spoke to on the phone asked for my credit card details. I had to cancel my room on 12th August due to illness and was shocked to find when I received my credit card statement that they taken £50 from my... More

Spent Saturday night at Wheatsheaf and everyone was really friendly. We stayed there as was near Newmarket races and was our first ever trip to the races. Ken the Landlord made this really special for us by taking us there in his Rolls Royce and getting us Premier tickets - made it a brilliant experience for us. We had our... More

The place is basic and access to rooms is a nightmare. The carpet was dirty at the foot of the stairs next to the kitchen. It was not only greasy, it needed a good hoovering. The breakfast was fine. The Landlord and Landlady were nice. In my opinion, it is too expensive for a B & B of its quality.... More

Just spent the weekend at the Wheatsheaf and what a pleasant weekend we had there. Staff very friendly and the landlord Ken was a star, had a drink with him in the pub and he even showed us the nightlife in Newmarket. The rooms are above the premises, so be careful no noisy party on, but we had no problems,... More

Honestly I can't see that the person above actually stayed at the same place I am! The atmospheres great the food is mouthwatering and is better than the majority of places in and surrounding Newmarket. If you work in health and safety then you'd know about the rules for the chairs! So clearly that's just a lie. It's a b... More

We booked to stay 3 nights at a total cost of £260 for 2 bandb, I did think it was a bit over priced however quaint english Inns may be great value for money I paid deposit of £130 with £130 to pay. Our room was accessed via the back of the building through a narrow door which had a... More
