Newcastle is a friendly city with a huge selection of restaurants and excellent nightlife. The metro system makes it really easy to get around. This hotel is located conveniently for Metro station into town, and within walking distance of the university and business school. Clean, friendly, with excellent breakfast. Has cocktail bar and modern restaurant. Good value. More

I've just stayed at this hotel for a week on business and found it to be excellent all round. A little bit more detail: The Room: The room was very clean, modern, well decorated and a fair old size too compared with other standard rooms I've stayed in at other hotels. The TV and entertainment hub provided were a pleasant... More

Stayed here whilst on business. Has everything you could want. Great rooms, great food, great staff and even better prices. Hotel was very clean and tidy. Tip: Bring a dvd player or PS3, you get free wifi and you are able to hook up to the TV through the ports. Will be staying here more often, best I have found.... More

Stayed here over the weekend with my wife, while visiting our daughter who us studying at Newcastle University. Previously we has stayed at hotels on the nearby Osborne Road, but they were all a "bit tacky" and the Holiday Inn was a big improvement. Location is excellent. Our room was well appointed if a little small. We didn't take any... More

I have stayed in several Holiday Inn hotels, but this is definitely one of the best. Staff very helpful, although no acknowledgement that I was a Priority Club member. All areas spotlessly clean. Decor modern. Not entirely convinced about partially obscure glass to bathroom though! Breakfast a little overpriced, although a good selection those who only eat a "normal" sized... More

Thank you very much for your positive feedback and apologize that you feel the breakfast is overpriced although if you book breakfast inadvance with reception it does cost less than going to the Restaurant. We do hope that you visit the hotel again in the near future. More

Stayed overnight in Jan 2012. Rooms are good value for money for the standard; you can pay double and get worse. Five minutes walk from the Metro, and free parking was handy. We also had a free beer for joining their Premier card More

Apologies to the people who readt this - as I am ranting!!! Style over Substance – or even attention to detail (or lack of it) I had the unfortunate pleasure of staying at the Holiday Inn Newcastle – Jesmond in November 2011 and found that my experience was somewhat different to the reviews posted on here. I really think it... More

Stayed here for one night in August; it's standard travelodge type accomodation but in a good location. Stayed here when before it burned down and it lt classier then, even though it was neglected. At checkin, the bespectacled, rotund, arrogant clerk could hardly have been more objectionable. Quite a feat when you consider how little interaction is required for checkin.... More

We had a lovely stay over the holiday period. Rooms very clean, modern & comfortable. The food was gorgeous and the restaurant service 1st class making us feel very welcome. We had both fabulous dinner and breakfast. Will definitely recommend this hotel and would return again. More
