Stayed at the Hatters for 1 night as i was meeting up with my son who was staying at the same place. The guy on reception was very friendly and helpful. For the money its great value with breakfast included . The only problem I had were the people above me who were very noisy , sounded like they were... More

Considering the price and location Hatters is the hostel where to go if you are travelling on a budget. Rooms are beds are clean. Staff very helpful and friendly. There is a great atmosphere thanks to them. For breakfast you have more than just tea. The checkout is 11 which allows you sleep the morning you are leaving!

Me and my fiance are moving to Birmingham and stayed at this hostel for 2 nights while viewing properties to move in to this weekend. There were no problems here at all. It was very laid back and relaxed and the rooms were clean. 24 hour entry and 24 hour free toast and tea and coffee. I paid £15 a... More

I stayed here for one night (a Sunday). Friendly and helpful reception staff with Birmingham info and maps. Left luggage - no charge - in a locked room, so I could leave my suitcase when not checked in yet. There was a common area; which was quite a decent size, a 'cinema' den, kitchen, chill-out room and internet room. Free... More

I spent one night here on my way north. I was a bit nervous walking to he hostel from the train station as the area looked a bit dodgy. I had to pass through a subway where a homeless person was staying and passed an industrial workshop. I thought - where am I?! Once I got to the hostel, I... More

We have chosen Hatters to stay for a two-day trip to Birmingham, to attend a conference. It was obviously not the right place for us to be, two adults in a non-party trip. The place was very noisy and the guests, most of them teenagers, not worried about others' comfort. We choosed because of the price, but there was a... More

i agree with the other reviews here. After a busy day working in Birmingham and a meal out after the conference reception, a short taxi ride takes you to this central - ex factory/warehouse comfortable bunk bed, clean sheets, clean showers, excellent helpful down-to-earth staff. help yourself to toast and cornflakes for breakfast. for fifteen quid, *** it's an extra... Really awesome staff, cool people and they're really helpful! The rooms were spacious and clean and really nice bathroom/showers. Also had one of the nicest lounges and TV I have ever seen in a hostel. This was easily one of the nicest hostels I have stayed at in Europe, I would definitely recommend it. Ask the Asian behind the desk... More

We only stayed here one night after a night out for one of the girls' birthdays but I have to say, as my first time staying in a hostel, it couldn't have been a better experience! The hostel is located a quick taxi journey away from Broad Street, the coach and train station so was perfect for us...there's lots of... More

Amazing staff, so friendly, helpful and funny! Great rooms for a great price! Location is great about 10mins walk from the city centre. Would definitely stay again! Best first backpackers experience I have had! :P
