Stayed here for 3 nights in february and loved it. Peter is a great host, very welcoming and generous. We were offered a glass of wine on arrival, very agreeable! The breakfast was superb and with local produce and eggs from his own chickens. The rooms were clean and appreciated the bath after a days mountain biking. Also peter had... More

Thank you Peter for being a charming host. We felt like we had shared your home, but enjoyed the freedom to come and go as we please. Cups of tea or something stronger on arrival, wonderful breakfasts and a lovley home set in the backdrop of the gorgeous, if wet, black mountains.

This place is a little treasure: roaring fires, piles and piles of books, beautiful china and deep armchairs to relax and read in. The atmosphere is largely due to Peter's personality, the B&B is friendly, relaxed and unpretentious. It is an old storehouse with cobwebs in the corners, not a good choice if you are a neat freak, but the... More

if you're anywhere near Brecon and looking for somewhere wonderful and different to stay, try and get a room in this remarkable house. It would be impossible to design the Old Storehouse from scratch - it has evolved and grown naturally into the most quirky, charming and (should you wish) entertaining B&Bs I have ever seen. In equal measure full... More

You will be struck by the volumes of classic books and beano comics, then by the authentic warm stone interior with modern rooms and finishings. Followed up by the cosy fires and tranquil atmosphere in its location. The host is very welcoming but not over bearing and you can enjoy the space as if it were your own...will definitely be... More

My friends and I were looking for a weekend away in the country and happened upon The Old Storehouse by accident. What a serendipitous find! The house is fabulous - lots of nooks & crannies, heaving with books, great fireplace, LOVELY garden overlooking a canal- Peter, the owner, is a truly lovely chap. We managed to get lost on the... If you're fed up with coffee and cream coloured boutique B&Bs that try a little bit too hard to ensure you feel welcome and relaxed, try The Old Storehouse. It's the antidote to all that. Peter makes his unique B&B warm and relaxing from the minute you arrive with homemade cake and tea in the garden. The location is beautiful... More

Thanks to Peter for giving us a warm welcome on a brief weekend stay; the house is easy to feel comfortable in and his recommendations for food and beer in the local area were spot on. We agree with all that's been said in the previous reviews - great breakfast, lots of books to browse, homely wood-burning stove, and a... More

This B&B is very unusual - and very much as described as in the other 'posts'. Peter is a charming host and most helpful in every way. The rooms are gorgeous; lots of space, books every where, very clean and tidy and nice views. Downstairs is completely cluttered - but thats part of its charm; sunk in an old armchair... More

This is my first review so apologies if its not the norm....but we had such a lovely stay I wanted to recommend to other visitors. My husband and I were travelling with our 2 year old little boy. We arrived to a warm welcome by Peter the owner & shown to our room which was a more than adequate size,... More
