A lovely hotel located in the centre of Cardiff. It was tricky to find, satnav didn't like the NCP car park address, that was a bit difficult to find. Once there though I was very happy to find myself in the very centre of Cardiff. The staff were genuine and very friendly, check in was painless and took no time... More

A repeat stay at the royal hotel, would recommend to people looking for a central location and a quality room. Friendly and helpful staff on the lead up and through out our stay. Only downside is that it is quite dark in the rooms.

Perfect location in the centre of Cardiff, great value for money (although the bar is pricey), Very well done for the double glazed windows, which block out so much sound from the party people down in the high street. Very lovely room, and excellent bath room. Would stay again!

I wanted something central and after reading reviews I thought it was perfect and it was. It is quite a hard place to find as the hotel reception is actually on the first floor. But after finding it I was greeted by a helpful staff that checked me in quick. The room was beautiful. The bed was comfy and the... More

Staying at the Royal Hotel is definitely good value for money. The location is excellent. We stayed for 10 nights at the 4th floor and didn’t hear any noises from the street below. The breakfast is also very nice.

My friends and I were having a one night stay as we were going to a gig at the Motorpoint Arena. We wanted something central and this really ticked the boxes. We were 5 mins walk from the arena and all the shops, bars and restaurants. We were a bit wary of the location being noisy but on a Thursday... More

Found entrance and reception difficult to find as a lift takes you to reception which is on the 1st floor, quick check-in found our room 306 very easy, the room was clean with good quality toiletries and hot drink facilities. Windows had secondary glazing we found out why when we left them open for fresh air, as we were woken... More

Booked this hotel direct for £56 B&B Special Rate. Centrally located few minutes walk from shops etc. Been to Cardiff many times and love the city. However, 1st time at The Royal and very disappointed. Lacked atmosphere. But as the saying goes you get what you pay for! We were allocated a room on the 6th floor. The room was... More

We booked directly with the hotel to stay Sunday 26th May 2013. A double room with breakfast was £56 in total for the 2 of us - far cheaper than the Travellodge & the Premier Inn. Check in was speedy & friendly We were on the 3rd floor. Great room, perfect for the night. Only one little problem......the windows don't... More
