This was our 4th time to stay in the Merchant and each visit reminds us of the special charm this hotel has. The renovations (many millions spent!!) are now complete and the added Berts jazz bar and restaurant ensure that memories of a visit to the Merchant will linger long after you have departed. We checked in and escorted by... More

I just had my 40th Birthday celebrations in Belfast, and 6 of us stayed here on 'The weekend experience.' The hotel is very impressive, and the staff are all very friendly and efficient. We had dinner on the Friday evening in 'The Great Room' restaurant- the food was very good and the service was faultless. One of our party felt... More

After arriving my girlfriend had left her gloves on the dash of the car. Five minutes after turning over the keys to the bell staff came a knock at our door. On a silver platter (literally), neatly crossed, were her gloves. "Madam, you might be needing these. It's quite chilly outside." Our second evening we returned from sight seeing a... More

It was a great experience starting from reservation up to the airport drop. We stayed here for 3 nights for our 10th year anniversary. Reservation was flawless. Been picked up by the Rolls Royce from the airport. Had a great room at the victorian wing. Got full attention from the staff. Everybody was extremely nice and helpful, especially the concierge:... One of the best hotels in Belfast in my opinion. Pricy but you get what you pay for. the bar with the fireplace is without a doubt the perfect winter hide out. Bedrooms in the old part of the hotel are amazing. I didn't see the new ones. Food and staff also excellent. More

Very disappointed by the cleanliness and general appearance and upkeep of the room. On initial appearance the room design was stunning, although there was a large feature mirror in the room, approx 6ft in height and when the light was turned on it was extremely dusty and a previous resident had wrote "clean me" on the mirror in the dust.... We stayed in this hotel a while back after the new section of the hotel had just opened (September 2010) to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The quality of the service, rooms and food was excellent. Although not cheap, it was worth the money and the package we went for came with a free meal in the restaurant where the food... More
