We booked through a central website, and we must have clicked on the wrong button. This hotel is so poor, it's difficult to understand the few positive reviews it gets. The location on Oban seafront is totally superb, BUT this hotel is both expensive & in need of a complete refurbishment. The crazy paving external steps are coming loose. The... More

Very run down and expensive. Rooms that were reserved for 4 months were not available. Rooms were tiny and in need of a good clean. Staircases were dangerous. Furnishings in the lounge were threadbare. need I say more.

We booked because the hotel is dog friendly, which it is. And the staff are friendly too, they really are (even though the barman did not know what chardonnay is), which was the saving grace and the reason for the "two dots" rating. The hotel hasn't been updated since, I would think, about 1968, the beds are uncomfortable and lumpy,... More

This was not a good experience. The hotel has much about it that says 1960's - and not much has been modernised since! Bedroom was small, antiquated fittings and tatty decor. This place really needs money spending otherwise I can't see it surviving. The en-suite was not one that I wanted to spend any time in. It reminded me of... More

I never ever wrote a review before on any place or hotel but felt compelled to do this for this hotel to warn others. Stayed here for 2 nights for the Highland & Islands Music and dance festival and never again . On entering the twin room (my mother had another single room ) the stale smell of smoke hit... More

Stayed for 1 night on business in May. I was looking for a hotel close to the town, with a pool and within a budget of around £70/£75 per night. I booked with an online booking service and reviews seemed OK. I should have checked TripAdvisor too and I am tottaly gutted I didn't, as I would never have booked... More

This hotel is dated, grubby and generally awful. We booked it because we have dogs and dog friendly places are hard to find. I wish we hadn't because it was not cheap and certainly not cheerful. The rooms were cold, and damp and the bed was not worth sleeping in but our room was so small we had no choice.... More

Stayed here for two nights. The room was cold and very dated. No hot water for a shower or a wash. The general feel of the the place was that it needs a good clean and updating. The leisure spa also run down and dirty. Such a shame could be a lovely place. Would not advise anyone to stay here.

Lets start this review with the positives... I had booked 2 nights at this crumbling wreck of a hotel, and my plans got changed last minute - the hotel staff amended my booking with no hassle at all, so that was good of them. First of all finding a parking space in the "car park" was a bit of a... More

We stayed here in June and the only good thing about our stay it was when we were not in the hotel and the weather. We made the mistake of not checking tripadvisor before we booked. The staff are very stand-offish, the room was musky and very dated. There was alot of unecessary funitre in the already small room. The... More
