We spent a lovely few days and nights here at the begining of May meeting up with family from Aberdeen whilst we came up from Nottinghamshire, to celebrate my Mothers 80th. The hotel and setting are delightful. The rooms are fine , spacious and clean. The staff on the whole were delightful and very helpful. The only downside for us... More

Despite the efforts of the very helpful staff and the wonderful location, our night here was disappointing due to the urgent need to refurbish the property. The beds in particular need replacement and soundproofing between rooms would be very desirable. Heating was patchy at best, and a moderately pleasant meal could have been much better with greater care.

Dear Reviewer, Thank you for your positive comments regarding our helpful staff and location. The Hotel does continue to invest significantly in capital spend, including only very recently the implementation of a new boiler system. Work is also currently underway to refurbish our Standard bedrooms. We will continue to work hard to maintain the fabric of this wonderful tradiotional building... More

A spur of the moment night away was met with a stunning, peaceful, tranquil location. The hotel staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much bother. Our room was clean, spacious and full of character with stunning views over the river from an amazing bay window. The breakfast selection was more than adequate offering so much choice meaning... I attended a wedding at Dryburgh Abbey. It was well executed and a great day was had by all. Staff made an extra effort to cater for my dietary requirements, which was much appreciated, and the food was delicious. There was a good choice of hot and cold items at breakfast. Less impressive was the room which - although a... More

I want to start with the positives: wow, what a setting! And clearly, some of the hotel rooms at the hotel must be fine considering some of the surprisingly good reviews on here. But our room simply wasn't up to scratch so there may be a problem with consistency in standards. So, onto our experience: we stayed in a standard... More

Recently celebrated my parents ruby wedding anniversary at the Dryburgh. From the moment we arrived, the staff looked after our every whim and nothing was too much trouble. The dinner in the evening was fantastic. From the wonderful smoked salmon canapes all the way through to the coffee and truffles at the end of the meal. Having stayed overnight, breakfast... More

Lovely impressive hotel let down by it very tired paintwork and furnishings. This could be and should have been a good restful stop on my way south after a week in the North but the food was only fair and the bed hard and uncomfortable. The water presure in room 212 pore taking 20 minutes to run any sort of... More

Lovely grounds and impressive riverside walks. We had a lovely spacious room, huge beds and very comfortable. Nice breakfast with good choices using local produce. Swimming pool adequate and not busy. Good location for local sights. Wouldn`t hesitate to visit again.
