my wife and i visited Peebles with a tour group organized by the folk rock group Quill as they were playing at the arts center 'staff were very helpful and the breakfast was very nice room was comfortable ,a local bus goes to Edinburgh every half hour takes one hour and costs about eight pounds fifty .central to all amenities. more
Stayed January 2010. Hotel on the high st, close to all amenities. Staff excellent, food of a very high standard. Rooms are comfortable. I would recommend hotel/location for a relaxing break, nice for leisurely walks along the`river. more

Hotel was very warm and inviting, staff could not have done enough for us, and always with a warm smile. Food was very good and such value for money. I've used Trip Advisor for many year's when selecting hotels to stay in but never posted before. I cannot understand why the Tontine is not rated higher by the website. We turned up at the Tontine on spec, desperate for a room as we had checked out of the Cross Keys in disgust - see other review on it. I cannot comment on the accomodation as we were only there for Christmas Lunch. However as food makes up a big proportion of your enjoyment I can only say the food and service presented on the day were excellent and far exceeded our expectations. Superb!!!!!! more

Beautifully styled in the public areas, although our room felt like it could do with updating a bit. Good location for exploring further afield and Peebles is a nice little town. As one of the organisers of an MG enthusiats weekend, we used the Tontine Hotel in Peebles from 24th Sept to 27th Sep 2009. There were 34 people and 20 MG cars.
