We had I lovely stay and although it was not full of mod cons it was very comfortable! They probable shouldn't advertise a licences bar unless they are going to open it but this didn't ruin our stay in anyway. As we never asked about this I can't say if they would have opened it on request or not, but... More

We have stayed here on a number of occasions and each one has been a pleasure. Whitmuir is a beautiful country house in a scenic, tranquil setting. The apartments are spacious, clean, very comfortable and well-kept with fully fitted kitchens. Even when all the accommodation is booked you still manage to feel like you have the place to yourselves. There... More

As a family we have stayed here on two occassions. The apartments and the cottages are extremely comfortable and very well equipped. The accommodation is very well kept and upgraded regularly, a little home away from home. I have noticed some references to being cold, but we have never experienced this. The accommodation is warm and comfortable. There is a... More

We first stayed at Whitmuir Hall in 2005 & have visited regularly since. The property is set in stunning grounds. Apartments are of a very high standard, spacious, spotlessly clean, well equipped and regularly upgraded. Great place for all occasions – quiet weekend, family holidays or large get togethers, we have used it for them all. The swimming pool is... More

The basic principle of staying anywhere comfortably is to be warm! This cannot happen with outdated heating. Stupidly, we ignored the warnings from other poor reviews. Whilst the place was clean (no bacteria can live at that temperature) even if you have the 6 heaters on all day (rubbish night storage things that need replacing desperately) you will still need... We stayed in the Tweed apartment on the second floor of Whitmuir Hall and were pleasantly surprised by the size of the apartment. We didn't find it cold, it was comfortable without using any heating. The pool area was clean and the water temperature was fine. The changing rooms were spotless. The area has loads of castles, houses and visitor... More

We stayed in Melrose Cottage which is in the Abbey Courtyard not the main house. The cottage was light, bright and spacious. The cot and highchair provided were a great bonus and there was plenty of space in the livingroom for our 1 year old to crawl about. The grounds are very peaceful and although there were other families staying... More

This is an ideal venue for a family break. Our boys aged 12, 10 and 7 were in heaven. It was wonderful to see them free and safe to enjoy the grounds in fair weather and to have so much fun in the games room and pool when it was changeable. They were swimming 15 times in a week. One... More

Marmion House (two bedroom - reference number 15787 on cottages4you and welcome cottages) The house was a great sized and very nicely decorated with an open plan kitchen/diner/lounge, a good sized bedroom and bathroom. Very cozy and functional and the owners are very organised in providing a welcome pack and leaflets on the local area. The swimming pool and games... More
