Our so called family suite could´nt be locked. The rooms werenot very clean.Dumfries itself is in deed a very boring place to be, so we´ll never be back. The breakfast was o.k. More

reported to tripadvisor as a false review. Either this is a friend of a competitor or a review for some other B&B. These people never stayed in our house. We have registration information on all our guests- we know this is fake. More

We stayed at the Ferintosh for three nights and have to say it is one of the best experiences we have had at a B&B. Both Robertson and Emma are delightful interesting people and have created a lovely place for travellers to enjoy Dumfries. The B&B is located perfectly for a visitor, it is approx. a ten minute walk to... More

Ferintosh Guest House is comfortably near the town centre and the railway station. We had a double bedroom. The bed was very comfortable and the room had everything we needed: bathrobes, Q-tips - even "whisky of the day"(this nice detail really melted my heart!) Breakfast was very tasty (I recommend haggis) and we had a nice chat with the owners.... More

This is a guest house I keep returning to - and there is a good reason: simply the best guest house I have stayed at in Britain. Situated in a quiet, yet central location in Dumfries, it is an ideal base for both town activities and for biking/hiking in the countryside. Rooms are clean and welcoming, with all the comforts... Stayed at 20 B&Bs en route from Lands End to John o'Groats by public transport. As 70 year olds we looked for comfort, quiet, service and generally good value. Like other places we stayed at in Scotland, Ferintosh met and exceeded expectations at average price. Had the added bonus for us of being close to station. Would stay there if... More

This is a very nice guest house clean and comfortable with lots of little nice touches that make you feel so welcome. We were on our way to the isle of Arran and decided to stop and rest for the night and spend an afternoon out and about. We recieved a very warm reception at about noon when we could... More

Review of Guest 3 of 5 stars Yes, the windows block out the birds, cars, wind and other sounds from outside if you close them… (not so much when left open.) Quite a trying guest, he gave the impression he thought he was a ‘TV hotel inspector’ and seemed to be constantly testing us to see how we would handle... More

Ferintosh Guest House is in an ideal location close to the town and handy for the train station. It is spotless and every comfort is catered for. We were in a double room and there were bathrobes for use in the en-suite. The bed was very comfy and the room tastefully decorated. There was a good varied choice for breakfast... More

The Scottish hospitality was present from the welcome from Robertson and Emma, to the lovely decanter of single malt Scotch waiting for me in my very comfortable room. I was traveling alone from the U.S. and Robertson and Emma could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was wonderful. I learned more about Robert Burns and Haggis than... More

Emma and Robertson could not have been nicer. Lovely, locally sourced ingredients made breakfast a treat. Clean and tidy rooms. Suggestions for pubs made our evening. And very knowlegeable about distilleries led us to visit Bradnock, a very rare single malt Scotch. More
