The best thing about Botanics B&B is the friendly and very helpful host (Eleanor). I was impressed when she gave me a list of 7-8 B&Bs when hers wasn’t available for the dates I had initially asked for. We eventually changed dates and stayed at her nice home near the Royal Botanic Gardens. We chatted so much about our travel... More

Eleanor welcomed 5 weary travellers into her home as her friends. We could use the beautiful kitchen as our home - we made late night cups of tea and my youngest tripped downstairs in the morning in his pyjamas as he usually does at home to sort himself out breakfast and relate his usual 9 year old stories to a... We stayed at Botanics and loved it! It was a great location. We walked to the Royal Mile (30 minutes). There is a botanical garden right down the street that was an enjoyable walk. The lochs and the highlands are a day trip. Eleanor was a perfect host. The Botanics is small, in a quiet residential section (we were the... More

We had a wonderful two-night stay here. The location is great - right next to the Botanic Gardens and just a walk/ bus ride into town. We felt very much at home from the start - the house is comfortable and laid back and Eleanor is a relaxed and very welcoming host, with plenty of good recommendations for places to... More

We were only in Edinburgh for a quick trip and were looking for a comfortable place to stay for the night - and we couldn't have been more pleased with our choice. The decor is lovely, the beds are divine, the breakfast is delicious and Eleanor the host really made us feel welcome in her home, which is full of... More

First time in a B&B and what a wonderful experience! Most importantly was that the host was extremely warm and welcoming and made us feel at home. Eleanor, our host, allows much freedom, coming in and out as we like, use of wireless internet and free to use her kitchen and have breakfast at anytime. A nice walk to the... More

I loved my (much too short) stay at Botanics B&B. I organised it at the last minute as I had to go to the Herbarium situated in the Botanic Gardens just a couple of minutes away for an unexpected work engagement. Eleanor responded really fast to my enquiry and had a lovely room for me. I really appreciated the ability... More

This is a lovely place to stay. There is nothing I would change. Welcoming, relaxed, comfortable, affordable, clean, stylish, near the centre .... what more can I say? Perfect if you're travelling alone, and I'd love to go back. More

Having seen some reviews that said' this is no ordinary b&b' I was a little dubious before arriving, but I needn't have worried. The things that make Botanics different to traditional b&b's are the things that make it stand out as a fantastic place to stay. Yes, you're staying in someone's house, but its a beautiful house and you feel... More
