Chose this establishment for the cheesy name. Family run, quiet and full of character!!!! John and his family/staff went out of their way to give information about the area and pre arranged meals for me for the remainder of my stay. we had a group reunion with friends and decided on edinburgh as a central place to meet up for a few days ! choosing " The Robert Burns" guest house as our place to stay John and his staff made us so welcome during our stay and gave us lots of info for things to do and places to go... more

This was a disappointment. Previiously stayed at The Abecorn (just up the road) which was lovely and the same price. The room was 3 flights up, the furnishings old and tired, the bed was on a slope - how do they do that? We were talked out of a cooked breakfast. I think the owner wanted to sleep in. The... more
