Beautiful rooms! Very close (10 min walking distance) to the city centre but no noise at night! The beds were short even for me (1.63cm!). We had one family room and easily fitted in 1 room with 4 people! Staff very friendly. Good place to stay during a stay in Edinburgh!

Three of us shared a room which was adequate but a wee bit on the tight side. Rooms were well heated and there was lots of hot water and large towels. The full Scottish breakfast was a nice way to start the day. It was an excellent location for the short walk into the city centre. Pubs and restaurants were... More

My wife and I stayed here for two nights with our son. Our room was very large. And my sons was adequate for him. We enjoyed our visit very much, City center was about 15 minutes walk. After spending all day walking around the city it was nice to come back to a very nice and clean Guest house where... More

Stayed at the Mingalar for the irish match. Great location near everything. Excellent quite ground floor room. While we did not use It, access to a mini kitchen is very helpful. Breakfast was good. Enjoyed the stay and would stay there again

Finding clean, comfortable well appointed rooms at a reasonable price in central location in the world's capital cities is nigh on impossible but Mingalar in Edinburgh offers. Along with a warm welcome and use of a kitchenette for those on a longer stay, this guest house is amongst the best I've ever stayed in

My husband and I stayed here for two nights while visiting Edinburgh and were very pleased. Our room was small but clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good. We really enjoyed the location, which was only a 10-15 walk to a lot of the major sites, and were happy with our stay.

Stayed here for one night over the weekend, and was very happy I did! It's in a great location, about 10 mins walk from the city centre, and the walk encompasses streets with cute shops and nice-looking delis. It's not all uphill, a slight incline, but nothing to worry about. The room itself was big enough, with a small bathroom... More

We stayed at the annex, which is the basement of the owners' house and it was lovely. We were met by the friendly owner and his wife, who showed us to our very clean room and explained the basics. We were supplied with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and some fresh milk and cold water. There is also a kitchenette... More

I had booked this B&B after seeing the lovely photographs of the rooms which looked amazing, sadly the one we were given was not one of them. The house is in a good location, with a short walk to Princes Street and the castle. the buffet breakfast was lovely with lots of choice.

Really helpful and friendly for festival novices. Easy walk to all attractions and venues. Great breakfast! Only slight gripe was temperamental electric shower. Would definitely recommend. Also good value for money during the Festival.
