Just an average hotel, good location, within walking distance of most sites, shopping, etc. Room furnishings are contemporary, little ambiance, very small rooms, thin mattress and pillows. Rooms were clean. We upgraded to a larger room, since my husband is a very large man and was not happy with the standard room. We had the standard buffet breakfast, sometimes scrambled eggs... More

This hotel generally met my expectations. The room was very clean. Toilet was separate from bath which I liked...and the bath tub was also separate from the stand up shower. The power shower was wonderful after a long trip. The health suite I did not get to use but that is a lovely addition to the package! My only slight... More

Took two rooms here for 1 night mid-june, my husband and I and two teenagers. Very good price. EXCELLENT rooms - clean and spacious and well equipped - with the all important tea/coffee making facilities. Bathrooms clean and well equipped - very modern/up to date. Beds comfortable. Staff friendly, allowed us to leave our luggage as we arrived 8am (check-in... More

This hotel was certainly within close walking distance of all the main attractions which was very convenient. Having stayed at many a Novotel, however, this one didn't meet up to the usual standards. Rooms were clean but small. The staff were ok - polite enough. Breakfast was a bit of a shambles when we were there. There were no bowls... More

Very central - easy to walk to town. We got upgraded to a bigger room overlooking the castle which was lovely. A little expensive when no breakfast included but what you expect from a chain of this level

Good size room for me as i was travelling on my own, really comfortable bed but only one pillow which is unusual for hotels these days. Bath and Shower good sizes, toilet was seperate which added some space, ample seating area if you wanted to use a laptop. Overall clean and comfortable. Only downside was my room overlooked a road... we have been with my boyfriend to Edinburgh this March and Novotel was a very good choice since it is only 10-15 minutes walking from the centre of the city. The breakfast was nice and the indoor swimming pool looked really relaxing. The stuff was helpful and the room was quite big and clean. Apart from the snow and cold,... More

Rooms were quite basic we had a family room that had a separate w.c but the w.c was a very dark little cupboard of a room with drab grey flooring and painted scuffed walls that made it feel a little unclean. The bathroom however was light and clean. The mattress on the bed was quite hard and not the most... More

Stayed for two nights in May. Great value for money booking through Accor Hotels. Pool and spa are just the right size but get in early! Also only paying for the car park on exit meant that if you walked into town (about 10 minutes) you could leave your car there the whole time and only pay £15. Room layout... More

My daughter and myself stayed for 3 nights over Bank Holiday weekend. We found the twin room was smaller than anticipated. Bathroom was so small we had nowhere to set our stuff and had to put bags on the floor, the separate toilet was so tiny you could hardly move but the most disgusting thing was the lack of a... More
